Relaunch!

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 9, 2007, 11:34 AM
I've managed to get shit art done in forever... BUT THAT IS NOW OVER!

I am going to change my artistic ways

I think a big part of the problem, aside from me being lazy as hell, is me just being way too critical. I get started on a work, then at some point I go "Nah, this isn't turning out how I wa thinking." I need to start just going with what I have. Even a less than stellar pic will do more for my gallery than a masterpiece that will never ever get done. I have a couple of sketches I'm planning to finish and I have ideas that I'll tone down if need be to get them on paper. Before the 24th of December I promise I will have no less than 4 new pics posted here.

Big thanks to :iconmikazuki-dono: for the colors.

Thanks to my best friend :iconjukkart: for getting me a new subscription and this sweeet new color theme for the journal.

Ok first off, stop beating yourself up. You will never get that masterpiece out of you if you keep invoking negative energy into you. What you have to do is first learn your basics and master those. Then you can began to play with ideas and patterns. If you have a favorite artist then use his/her work as a base to get you going. But dont fall in the trap of being a carbon copy, that's the worst thing you can do. Look at the line work of your favorite artist and try to imagine why he did that line that way, and why did he shaded it this way. Then you can apply those techniques to your own and develop your own style. Then step out on your own and challenge yourself by getting involved in contest, or creating something not in your comfort zone.

Any body in the comics books industry or animation will tell you one major thing. Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice. Oh and thanks for the fave!!!!!

Cheers!
